ARTSZONE'S
BOARD
WHO
WE ARE
ArtsZone is a
non-profit community based YouthARTS Education initiative, offering
arts programming in a variety of disciplines to youth in Pasquotank
County, North Carolina. Youth ARTS programs include curriculum-based
artistic exposure, which enhances learning through arts-in-education
residencies, workshops, after-school and summer art projects
for youth.
MISSION
The mission of
ArtsZone is to use the arts to forge links between youth from
diverse cultures and communities for the improvement of educational
attainment, social responsibility, character development and
an appreciation for the arts, self and the community.
GOALS
Our goals are
to create and implement youth art programs to:
Enhance academic performance and the commitment to achievement
in education.
Improve positive social attitudes and develop critical thinking
skills.
Develop artistic skills for self-expression through exposure
to various disciplines of the arts.
Provide at-risk
youth with year-round and after school intervention art programs
proven to reduce juvenile delinquency.
Provide youth
with a sense of accomplishment, thus enhancing their self-esteem
and self-worth.
Teach the business
and entrepreneurial aspects of the arts and provide youth with
the necessary skills to become productive members of the community.
